Customised solution for cleaning reactors
Chemitec developed a customised solution for the cleaning of the reactors of a US plastics manufacturer. The customer stipulated an improved performance in comparison with the product currently in use, as well as a reduced load on the biological water-purification plant.
New cutting liquid
A major steel multinational requested Chemitec to develop an entirely new cutting liquid for use with their CNC grinders. Each grinder is equipped with a buffer tank containing 7000 litres of cutting liquid that is recycled via a filter. Two of the most important specifications of the product related to bacterial control and the dispersing power of the liquid. The customer has now been using this high-tech product for some time, and to their complete satisfaction.
Cleaning pigment mixers
Chemitec developed a cleaning solution for a leading company which processes pigments. The new product, which was designed for cleaning the equipment used to mix pigments, offers both a great improvement in occupational health & safety and a zero environmental impact. The product also needed to comply with the requirements for the ready disposal of the processed product pursuant to the Chemical Waste Act. In contrast to the previous method, the new cleaning process no longer poses a fire hazard. The company’s other European branches have now also modified their cleaning process and implemented this Chemitec solution.
Efficiency increased by eighty percent
Chemitec developed a solution for the cleaning of the reactors used by an international food company. The solution has halved the amount of cleaning agent that is required, and the efficiency has been increased by eighty percent. The 2.5 hours previously required to clean the open reactors has been reduced to just twenty minutes. This is an example par excellence of the results that can be achieved by consulting with the staff who work with the cleaning product and by making use of the appropriate agents.
Safer for employees
Subsequent to a thorough analysis Chemitec has succeeded in devising a solution for a multinational active in the metal industry – which was confronted with problems in the cleaning of its large installations – whereby the chlorinated hydrocarbons that were previously used have been replaced by safer products. In the past the machines needed to be dismantled once a month to remove the swarf adhering to the internal surfaces. Chemitec’s solution is based on the addition of special inhibitors that greatly reduce the quantity of swarf adhering to the machine parts. In addition, the former twelve-hour cleaning time has been reduced to just six hours. The solution has reduced the amount of liquid that is required, lessened the environmental impact, and is safer for the employees.
Cleaning in a closed system
Train pneumatic systems are now cleaned using a CIP system. Chemitec has developed a system in which two products are used to clean the interior of the pneumatic system thoroughly and then apply an anti-corrosion coating. This efficient customised solution prolongs the maintenance intervals and reduces the time required for maintenance – thereby saving both time and money.
Optimising the customer’s process
Chemitec has assisted a leading food company by replacing a hazardous chemical product with a safer, more environmentally-friendly and much more efficient agent. This solution is illustrative of Chemitec’s approach: a product is developed which is compatible with the customer’s process, and which also optimises the process.
Comprehensive cleaning in half the time
Chemitec’s strength lies in the consideration given to the customer’s processes. In the past, one of a multinational chemical concern’s major plants needed to be shut down for 48 hours for a comprehensive cleaning process – stops which were extremely expensive. The concern used a specific product to flush the equipment and clean it; however, Chemitec devised a solution that reduces the stop to less than 24 hours and prolongs the intervals between cleaning.
